F.A.Q.
Who can come to Haven & Escape and when do they meet?
Haven is for anyone in 9th-12th grade. Escape is for anyone in 6th-8th grade. You do not have to attend or be a member at Oak Lawn Bible in order to attend our youth programs. Haven meets Sundays from 6:30pm-8pm. Escape meets Wednesdays from 7pm-8:30pm.
I am new what do I need to do to get started?
A great place to start is with the welcome packet and just show up.
Does it cost anything to attend?
No. We do have special events and take offering but these are optional. The offering we collect goes to different causes each year. It doesn't cost anything to attend Haven, Escape, or Sunday school.
Can I sit in on one of your meetings?
Yes. Please stop by and check us out.
Is Sunday School apart of Haven & Escape?
Yes and no. Sunday School is apart of the youth ministry. We have a Sunday school class that meets Sundays at 9:30am in the youth room for 6th-12th grade.(doesn't meet in the summer) Our hope is that those that attend Haven & Escape would also choose to attend Sunday school but its not required. In Sunday Sunday school we will dig deeper into the Bible.
What are the policies and procedures for special event?
For special events their is paper work to be filled out and money to collect. We ask that you turn in everything together in a envelop. The payment is non-refundale or transferable. For more information on this please see the welcome packet.
Can those that are in 6th grade go to AWANA?
Parents of those in 6th grade have a choice. We call it the 6th grade elective. Those in 6th grade can either go to our AWANA program or join us for Escape. We ask that you make a commiment to one of these and that you will stick with it for the year. Find our 6th grade elective form here.
