Proverbs 9

 

I. Wisdom invites anyone to benefit from her (1-6)

        A. Wisdom prepares to serve many (1-2)

 

          B. Wisdom provides for those who are in need (3-5)

 

          C. Wisdom’s prerequisite is repentance (6)

 

II. Ways people respond to wisdom vary (7-12)

          A. Correcting a mocker leads to insults and abuse (7-8a)

 

          B. Confronting a wise man leads to appreciation and growth (8b-9)

 

          C. Comparison of the responses’ outcomes (10-12)

 

III. Woman of folly leads to the grave (13-18)

          A. Folly pursues those who pass by to take advantage of them (13-15)
